LIFEWORX, Inc., was founded on the principle that “Problems are perceptions, not situations.”
Dennis J. Gardin, as a child, envisioned himself one day becoming a successful entrepreneur. It seemed
as though all of his plans and dreams for the future ended, when in 1972 a tragic incident occurred.
Little did he realize that his real life’s worx was about to begin, when at the age of 14, he was involved in
a motorcycle explosion. Third and fourth degree burns over 70% of his body resulted in eight months of
hospitalizations, a three week coma and more than four dozen surgeries.
Prolonged pain and extensive physical disfigurement nearly destroyed him. Dennis came to hate both
living and himself. He attempted to retreat from life by isolating himself for two years in the confines of
his parent’s home.
Dennis was fortunate to have a steadfast support system. With the unwavering love
of his parents, family and friends, he was able to rise above his circumstances and recapture his zeal for
life. He learned that self-acceptance is critical to rebuilding one’s self-esteem.
He began to understand that crises occur in everyone’s life, and that challenges are really opportunities
for change and growth.
The key to surviving is attitude. This rebirth of purpose compelled him to share
his gift. Dennis began counseling burn survivors and their families at several hospital burn centers
nationwide. This led to his involvement with several different organizations around the country.
Dennis has risen from the devastation of his tragedy to become the Founder and President of
LIFEWORX, Inc., a professional speaking and consulting organization specializing in support services.
LIFEWORX, Inc., is committed to encouraging others to overcome life’s seemingly insurmountable
challenges and realize that LIFE REALLY DOES WORK!
