Leslie Love

Talent Biography

With more moves than a California earthquake, actress/comedienne, Leslie Love commands the stage and rocks audiences with her quick wit, contagious personality and mid-western charm.

As a stand-up comedian Leslie has performed internationally, in Europe, and at comedy clubs throughout the U.S. Leslie has also toured with Cedric ‘The Entertainer,’ performed on BET’s Comic View, and opened concerts for local artists Luther ‘Bad Man’ Keith and Randy Scott, to name a few.

This lady, with the infectious smile, has also graced the stage in such plays as A Raisin In the Sun, The Crucible, Flyin’ West, On Striver’s Row, The Offering, The Owl Killer, House of Blue Leave, Passages, and Chances Are. In addition, Leslie has also earned credits on such hit television shows as Just Shoot Me, Ally McBeal and Martial Law.

A native Detroiter, Ms. Love is easy on the eyes, hard on the funny bone and extremely talented. This wildly funny lady effortlessly blends humor, passion, pain and truth to her performances and serves it up with an ‘I ain’t scared to take it there attitude.’

Leslie Love is a Hilberry Classical Repertory Theatre Alumna fellow and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre/Arts Management from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Siena Heights University; and is the Theatre Manager at Marygrove College. She also an Adjunct Professor for the Institute of Music and Dance at Marygrove. Ms. Love is an active member in the theatre community and has produced and/or co-produced on several shows in the Detroit area including the award-winning play “Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train,” “A Cloud of Women,” and the Motor City Men of Comedy Show.

In 2002, Ms. Love founded Insomnia Entertainment, LLC an entertainment agency specializing in booking local talent and producing live events. Through her company, Ms. Love plans to fulfill her vision to re-establish Detroit as a source for discovering new and emerging talent and to provide local performance artists an environment in which they can gain exposure, expand their fan base, and perform regularly.
